Who We Are
His Highness Prince Rashid bin El Hassan
President of the Jordan Taekwondo Federation

The Jordanian Taekwondo Federation was established in 1979, and around one million Jordanian athletes have participated in this sport throughout the federation’s history. More than thirty-five thousand athletes have achieved the black belt. Interest in Taekwondo in Jordan has steadily grown over the years due to international success achieved at the highest levels of competition. Each success has contributed to highlighting the sport’s status and significance.
Our story began in 1973, when His Majesty King Hussein, may God bless his soul, and His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan took the first step in introducing Taekwondo as a sport in Jordan. After attending a demonstration by the Taiwanese Marine Corps, Prince Hassan invited the training team to help establish Taekwondo as a military sport in Jordan. This marked the beginning of the Taekwondo journey in Jordan, which was immediately embraced by the people as a means of achieving equality among all segments of society.
We view Taekwondo as more than just a sport; it is a way of life that we are proud of. We tell a story through Taekwondo about living by its values, integrity, and unique character. Our achievements thus far are just the starting point on our journey towards excellence and our quest to become a part of Jordan’s identity. We aspire to inspire a generation to make our country one of the leading nations in Taekwondo on a global level.
